ITS IN GODS HANDS NOW!

Visa, Visa, Visa, just give me my fricken Visa, I am not threat to national security.

Really I'm not.

IT SOUNDS ALL SO SIMPLE

Let me start from the beginning here, it all started in  early February with my first attempt at obtaining a visa. I thought it was in the bag, I thought it was a shoe in, I thought they were going give it to me like  fitness first gives out 2 day passes to there gyms.

I did everything that was on the checklist. I got my biometric scanned, I filled out the online application, answered all the questions on the supplementary questionnaire and paid the 490 dollar application fee. I did everything it asked, except for one thing.

I fricken attached a bank statement with absolutely no money showing in it (unless you count 51 bucks as money in the bank). I mean when they ask for your bank statement I thought they just wanted to see a bank statement, not one with money in it. I mean really!

A mistake anyone could have made, really. They should put in bold, on the website and on the application form, PLEASE ATTACH YOUR BANK STATMENT SHOWING US THAT YOUR NOT A BUM!!!

Wait, I think they do. Okay so I made a mistake, you'd think it would be a mistake that could be easily rectified, a simple call into the consulate explaining the situation would do it, but noooooooooooooo!!!!!.

NO VISA FOR YOU!

Once a visa application has been rejected you have two options, you can apply again, or you can appeal in hopes that the decision will be over turned. We thought because my situation was simple and could easily be rectified with a new bank statement showing that I wasn't a BUM, we thought that the quickest and best way to go ahead was to provide the new bank statement and lodge an appeal.

DENIED DENIED DENIED

Late March and the appeal verdict was in, Rejected, Rejected Rejected.

I have no idea why on earth the appeal was denied, but it was. Where to next you ask? Well, its of to the AIT, not going to say what it stands for, but let me just say not a good place to be associated with when your due to leave the country at the end of April.

THIS IS OUT OF CONTROL

After talking to the people at the AIT, and hearing the words, 4 to 6 months come out there mouths. I was like OMG IM FARKED!! Then it was CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL. Cancel the international appeal with the AIT and submit a new application.

April - After having received official confirmation from the AIT that the appeal with them had been cancelled, then it was time to submit a second application.

Got all the forms completed, ticked all the boxes on checklist, got the correct bank statement, getting everything ready to be sent, when I checked my passport and found that the expiry date on the bastard was May 2009. My passport expires while we are travelling so we though it would be a good idea to renew the passport now before we head overseas. So we were of to 26 Lee Street for the new passport. Without my new passport I was not able to get my biometric scan, so I couldn't send the application through to Canberra until I had my new passport.

THE CLOCK IS TICKING

9th April, Thursday afternoon 3:20pm, email pops up in the Inbox saying 'your passport is ready to be picked up' I sprint to 26 Lee Street pick up the passport and then jump into a CAB to get to the Gateway building for my Biometric Scan. All done!! ready to go, ready to send, but wasn't to be

We needed a letter from SK stating clearly that we would be staying with him in the first few months in the UK, and BK needed to write a covering letter explaining what on earth was going on..

So, we held off on sending the application to Canberra yet another day.

ITS IN GODS HANDS NOW

10th April, D-day,

Visa Checklist

Biometric Scan

Passports

Letter from SK

Covering letter from BK

Correct Bank Statement

Printed and signed online visa application form

Supplementary questionnaire

Credit Card details for postage cost

That's it seal up that EXPRESS POST ENVELOPE and send that fcker!!!!

Visa application sent.

And now, well now we wait........

Peace
